Overview

PokéRift is an unofficial fan-made browser game. You can play as a guest, or you can create an optional account if you want cloud saves, lifetime progress, achievements, Pokédex records, and Hall of Fame history to persist between sessions.

Information We Collect

If you create an account, we store your email address, display name, hashed password, account timestamps, and authentication session status. Passwords are stored as password hashes, not as plain text.

When you save progress, we store gameplay data needed to restore and summarize your run. This can include selected region, badge progress, team composition, Pokémon levels and stats, held items, inventory, battle progress, lifetime stats, achievements, registered Pokémon, shiny records, and Hall of Fame entries for completed champion runs.

The server may also receive standard technical information, such as IP address, browser details, request times, and error logs, as part of ordinary hosting, security, debugging, and abuse-prevention operations.

Cookies

PokéRift uses a secure authentication cookie to keep logged-in players signed in. This cookie is used only for account access and cloud-save functionality. The game does not use advertising cookies.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to provide optional account access, save and load runs, display profile progress, unlock achievements, show Pokédex and Hall of Fame records, maintain the service, investigate bugs, and protect the game from misuse.

Sharing

We do not sell player information. Data may be processed by hosting, database, or infrastructure providers that operate the service. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or to respond to security or abuse issues.

Data Retention

Account and cloud-save information is kept while the account remains active or while it is needed to operate the service. Hall of Fame entries are stored as part of your cloud profile. If you want your account or saved data removed, contact the project operator through the project repository.

Your Choices

Account creation is optional. If you play without logging in, PokéRift does not create a cloud profile for you. Logged-in players can choose when to save progress, and can log out at any time.
